Forecast Outlook - 12/19/2024
Warmer than normal, record highs in jeopardy
High pressure builds over the region, skies will clear out and temperatures will push up to near record-breaking levels. Most of Southern Nevada will be locked in a dry pattern through the weekend, with the next best chance of showers rolling over the region Christmas Eve & Christmas Day.
A gusty north wind will continue down the Colorado River Valley into Laughlin through Wednesday afternoon, as areas east and south of Las Vegas remain under a Wind Advisory through 4:00 p.m. Otherwise, the weather pattern will be quiet and unseasonably warm for the next few days as a ridge of high pressure takes hold of the region.
Christmas Eve is a First Alert Weather Day, as storm system coming in from the Pacific Northwest brings on a chance for showers late Tuesday into early Wednesday morning. Wind gusts in the 20-30 mph range are also in the forecast for both days.
We’re keeping a close eye on this storm as we head into Christmas week and will update you in your First Alert forecast.
