LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) -Warmer temperatures are heading our way.

A strong ridge is taking hold of the southwest U.S. deflecting any rain from coming into the Las Vegas area.

As of Tuesday we have gone 157 days without any measurable rain.

Wednesday we will experience plenty of sunshine and light wind.

If you have plans to travel to Laughlin there is a wind advisory in effect until 4PM Wednesday.

The rest of the week looks good.

For the weekend a series of troughs (areas of low pressure) slip in southern Nevada producing some cloud.

Those troughs will clear the way for a weather maker to move into Las Vegas Christmas Eve.

What it will deliver remains to be seen.
