Las Vegas police seek hit and run suspect that left one person dead
LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - Las Vegas Metro police are investigating an east valley crash that left one woman dead Friday night.
According to LVMPD, a dark-colored SUV struck a pedestrian crossing Flamingo Road, east of Euclid Street, outside of a marked crosswalk around 8:10 p.m.
Police add that the unknown SUV then fled the area.
Arriving medical crews pronounced the woman dead at the scene. She was identified as Maria Garcia, a 72-year-old.
“The pedestrian’s death marks the 145th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department,” LVMPD noted in a release.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
