Telles Murder Trial: State’s key witnesses continue to testify
LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - A long day of testimony wraps up day 4 of the Robert Telles trial on Thursday. Law enforcement personnel, and a medical examiner who worked the case, along with two real estate agents took the stand.
We heard from a man named Zackary Schilling, a prominent real estate agent, who says he worked with Telles while he was the county public administrator. When Metro released pictures of the suspect and car, Schilling said he knew who it was.
“When you see images of the suspect walking around does that catch your attention?” asked district attorney Christopher Hamner. “Yes, it does, with the way of the photos and the likeliness of Mr. Telles were really really close,” Schilling replied. “I’m like, boy, that really looks like somebody I know,” Schilling added. “Who were you thinking of?” Hamner followed up. “I was thinking of Mr. Telles,” the witness said. He continued by saying, “Mr. Telles would wear a certain kind of Nike [shoe] that was very unique to me.”
Schilling, in another reply to the state, said, “I didn’t want to believe it but the facts are the facts, that was Rob Telles’ car.”
Schilling ended up calling CrimeStoppers to let them know about Telles.
Throughout Schilling’s testimony, Telles is seen shaking his head in disbelief.
We also heard from a detective who searched Telles’ house. He tells the jury about finding shoes under his couch. “Did the shoe catch your attention?” the state asks. “It appeared to be the shoe that was shown to us previously in the photos we had of the suspect,” Edgar Nahum said.
The detective goes on to explain how the shoes were found. Nahum also says no one except Telles and his wife were in the home at the home of the search warrant.
As we mentioned before, the defense claims evidence was planted.
