The Aviators defeated the Aces, 2-1, at Las Vegas Ballpark
Aviators left-hander Hogan Harris pitched 4.0 innings in the no decision. He allowed 2 hits, 1 run, walked 4 and struck out 6 on 71 pitches (45 strikes).
Las Vegas, trailing 1-0, scored two runs in the fourth inning to take the 2-1 lead on a sacrifice fly by designated hitter Jordan Diaz (0-for-2). Las Vegas tied the game on an RBI triple by second baseman Armando Alvarez (1-for-3, run scored).
Reno left-hander Konnor Pilkington suffered the loss. He pitched 3.1 innings and allowed 2 hits, 2 runs, walked 5 and struck out 2 on 67 pitches (32 strikes).
Aces first baseman Andres Chaparro was 2-for-2, double, walk, RBI and was 4-for-5, HR, 4 RBI in the double-header.
Game #2-DH: Las Vegas Aviators 9, Reno Aces 6
The Aviators defeated the Aces, 9-6, to sweep the double-header before a crowd of 4,453 at Las Vegas Ballpark.
Las Vegas improved to 14-15 and Reno dropped to 13-16. Las Vegas leads the series, 2-games-to-1.
The Aviators, trailing 1-0, scored seven unanswered runs to take 7-1 lead after five innings. Four Las Vegas players recorded multiple-hit games. Catcher Yohel Pozo was 2-for-4, two doubles, 2 RBI, two runs scored; left fielder/SS Logan Davidson was 2-for-2, two walks, RBI, two runs scored; designated hitter Carlos Perez was 2-for-3, walk, triple, 2 RBI, run scored and right fielder Hoy Park was 2-for-4, triple, 3 RBI, run scored.
Game four of the seven-game homestand is Thursday at 7:05 p.m. on $2.00 Beer Night.
