No injuries reported after overnight house fire in Summerlin
LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - Flames engulfed a home in Summerlin early Friday morning.
According to Las Vegas Fire and Rescue, a person nearby called in around 12:30 a.m. to report the mansion fire in a gated community near Village Center Circle and Hills Drive. Crews say the estate is approximately 10,000 square feet.
When crews arrived, they found flames were “already coming through the roof.”
Firefighters confirmed with the homeowner that no one was inside at the time.
The first fire unit arrived six minutes after their assignment, a LVFR spokesperson said in a news release. The crews then began a defensive strategy.
No injuries are being reported. However, a FOX5 photojournalist on the scene saw first responders help a bicyclist who hit a fire hose line.
Fire crews tell FOX5 the roof and second floor collapsed.
This is a developing story.
