LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - Victoria Seaman has conceded the Las Vegas mayoral race to Shelley Berkley Thursday morning.

Currently, former Congresswoman Shelley Berkley leads City Councilwoman Victoria Seaman by 15,037 votes, though the Associated Press has yet to call the race.

Seaman’s statement continues, “While the outcome of the Mayor’s race is not what we had hoped, I wholeheartedly congratulate Shelley Berkley on her election as the next mayor of Las Vegas.”

“Campaigning across our great city has been an experience I will cherish forever,” Seaman said.

With Berkley’s victory, she is the first person outside of the Goodman to take the office in 25 years.
