Report: Downtown Las Vegas sees gaming revenue dip in October
LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - Downtown Las Vegas saw a dip in gaming revenue last month, according to new numbers from the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
According to the report, the state saw a 2.13% decrease in year-over-year revenue, when compared to October 2023. Looking at the fiscal year, the state also saw a monthly 2.48% decrease last month.
In Southern Nevada, the most notable losses came out of the downtown area, which reported an 11% decrease. The next highest reported loss came out of Laughlin, which reported a nearly 7% loss last month.
Up north in Washoe County, the balance of the county outside areas like Reno, Sparks, or North Lake Tahoe saw an 18% year-over-year decrease. Elko County, outside of Wendover, would also report a 13% decrease in gaming revenue.
As for taxes generated from the revenue, the state saw a 4.24% decrease when compared to last year, with only $79,645,187 collected in November.
