Telles Murder Trial: Second day of jury deliberations ends
LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - The jury was sent home Tuesday after deliberating for nearly 10 hours. Jurors will continue deliberations on Wednesday morning.
Jurors are deliberating in the trial of a former Clark County official accused of killing a Las Vegas journalist back in May of 2022.
Not only does the jury decide whether he is guilty or not guilty, but in murder trials there is usually a penalty phase which means if the jury finds Telles guilty, they can decide his sentence.
Right now Telles, if convicted, faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.
After Tuesday’s deliberations, we heard from some Clark County public administrator office employees.
“Our hearts and prayers are for justice for Jeff and his family more than anything. It’s very, very difficult to wait, but we hope and pray and believe the jury’s doing their very best to review everything they’ve been told, it’s been a lot,” current public administrator Rita Reid said.
FOX5 will stream any developments happening inside the courtroom.
