Transformation of Mirage Volcano underway ahead of Las Vegas Super Bowl
The volcano’s chilling out for the Super Bowl and adding some snow-capped peaks
LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - Snow-capped peaks will soon replace the fiery cone of the Mirage’s volcano.
Workers are currently transforming the volcano into the iconic “Paramount Mountain,” as part of the activities created especially for Super Bowl LVIII.
Paramount Global is the parent company of CBS, which will carry the big game this year. Paramount is building an opportunity to highlight all its brands in Las Vegas as hundreds of thousands of football fans flock to the city for the festivities.
The mountain will feature a variety of fan experiences built around such franchises as Transformers and Star Trek. Those who reach the summit, can take a hyper-realistic gondola ride to what’s billed as a “thrilling simulation, accentuated by frigid winds and harrowing heights”
As of Tuesday night, crews had added the mountain’s peak, but it looks like they still have a lot of work to accomplish before Super Bowl week kicks off on February 5.
